Order Asterales, Family Asteraceae, Genus Heterotheca
This plant is similar to H. villosa, but larger, and it has leaves with long hairs quite appressed, and barely visible galnds. H. villosa, on the other hand, has very glandular leaves. These differences can be seen with magnification.
Here are both plants next to each other. I love it when things work this way!
