Prunus emarginata (Bitter Cherry)

These grow as slender small trees in the ravine in Lower Magnolia. They must have been brought in from the northwest, where they are indigenous. Glands at the leaf base, on the petiole, visible with a microscope, confirm the identification. In spring, these small trees are quite showy with their white blossoms.
