Hydrophyllaceae (Sub-family Hydrophylloideae, Waterleaf Family)

These plants are typified by the young buds, which grow in a tight coil, unfurling as they mature. The exserted stamens (protruding beyond the other flower parts) are diagnostic. As of January 2018, APG IV has placed Family Hydrophyllaceae in Order Boraginales, but this designation may be temporary.
