Ribes inerme (Black Currant)

Order Geraniales, Family Geraniaceae, Genus Geranium

Black Currant has larger leaves than Red Currant, and also has thorns. "Inerme" means "unarmed" in Latin, so this plant is misnamed. Its berries taste pretty good, and are eaten voraciously by chipmunks and ground squirrels, and by people, if we're lucky.
