Datura innoxia (Jimson Weed)

Somehow this native plant got up to Magnjolia, but I don't know how. Normally it lives much farther South, at lower altitudes. In an old cowboy song, there is line about how the "lonesome cattle feed on the lowly Jimson Weed....." Not a good idea, people. Powell's expedition through the Grand Canyon nearly wiped itself out eating the foliage of this plant. It is also known as "Mooflower" for its huge beautiful white blooms.
